LIVE.

RACHEL SELLERS - “live” VOICE FOR LITERATURE

Away from my home recording studio, I have been thrilled to be involved in literary festivals and special events as a ‘live’ reader of both adult and children’s fiction, poetry and commemorative narrations. The guest authors or organisers select book extracts and poems they would like me to read during an interview or event.

At children’s literary festivals, I have had the huge pleasure of reading aloud the winning stories written by children, in 500 word short story writing competitions. What a thrill to read aloud the work of budding young writers!

I love what I do, recorded or live, and welcome an opportunity to join you and your guest authors at your literary festival, to read extracts or poetry from their books, or to narrate stories, readings and letters for a special event.

As a British voiceover artist, I have voiced a wide range of projects and styles, providing a clear, warm style for documentaries, national tv and radio commercials, corporate narrations, training and e-learning videos, to natural, bright reads for web videos, infomercials and jingles, as well as character voices for audiobooks, videogames and apps.

If you would like a reader at your festival or special event, please call me on +44 (0)7760 453311 or whiz me a message in the contact form with details of what you require and I’ll respond post-haste.

Rachel Sellers has performed at all of our literary festivals at Chiddingstone Castle and adds immeasurable quality to the events she takes part in. She has read our winning children’s short stories with warmth, humour and gusto, and has recently added her unique voice to our adult’s poetry event. She’s an invaluable addition to our line-up.

My background

After 10 years as a teacher, 3 years as children’s magazine editor and 12 years a company founder/Director, one thing remained constant - my absolute love of performance and reading aloud!  In recent years, this has been at literary festivals, charity and Remembrance events, as well as significant events for family and friends.

I have been a voiceover artist for 18 years, and, after selling my business, I decided it was time go full time, recording projects for some great clients: Google, Nintendo, Shell, Transport for London, Roche Pharmaceutical, Amazon, Barclays, Good Housekeeping, Orange, TK Maxx and more.

To discuss your narration or ‘live’ reading and what I can do for you, please call me on +44 (0)7760 453311 or ‘pen’ a short message in the contact form.

What kind of voice does the writing require?

• Trustworthy, honest, sincere and kind.

• Informative and educational.

• Enthusiastic, Energetic. Full of character and fun.

• Saucy, suggestive and just a wee bit naughty!

• Smooth. Rich.
